DMCA & Copyright Policy

To be valid under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), your notice must include:

• Your physical or electronic signature, or that of someone authorized to act for the copyright owner.
• A description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed.
• The Instagram username and, where possible, the link to the specific story, highlight, reel or post.
• Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.

When we receive a complete notice, we block the content or account you identified so our tool no longer displays or downloads it, and we reply to confirm. Incomplete notices may delay action, so please include everything listed above.

Because the content itself lives on Instagram, blocking it here does not remove it from Instagram. To remove it from Instagram, use Instagram's own copyright reporting form.

If you believe content was blocked by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice that includes:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• The username or link of the content that was blocked.
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was blocked by mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which IG Story Viewers may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). We may ignore notices that are clearly abusive or incomplete.

If you own a public Instagram account and simply don't want it to appear on IG Story Viewers, you don't need a copyright notice. Use our Content Removal page instead.
